My name is Brian Roberts. I have a rare medical disease which impacts such things as my hormones, body temperature, weight, memory, and emotions. I have had a very challenging life. I have almost died a few times and I never thought I would make it to the age of 40 but I am happy to say that I am now 47!
At the age of 18, I had two ankle fusions. I have to wear bulky braces that make it very hard to stay balanced. I am starting to have problems with my knees as well. Sometimes I need a wheelchair. I live alone and am self-sufficient but I know that a NEADS Service Dog would help me when I feel unbalanced, need help picking up dropped items or need other tasks done for me. This dog that will be specifically trained for me will also be my companion and will help to keep my spirits up.
A NEADS dog costs the organization over $25,000 to train and place. I have been asked to raise $9,500 towards that cost. Please help me reach my goal with a tax-deductible donation. A donation of any size would be appreciated. Thank you very much. This means a lot to me.
