Nicole Toscano & Watson
Hi my name is Nicole Toscano and I am a student at Providence College. I'm double majoring in Social Work and Health Policy and Management. I have a rare, genetic connective tissue disorder known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which makes my joints extremely loose causing them to partially and fully dislocate frequently. I'm an extremely busy college student and my dog Watson is an unbelievable help in being more independent in my day-to-day life. Having the freedom to go different places by myself and know that Watson will be right there to help if I need it will be such a relief! My condition is very painful and Watson reduces that pain by helping me complete certain tasks that would normally cause pain, such as bending to pick something up. With the help of Watson by my side 24/7 I will be able to have a more productive and successful life. I'm so grateful to NEADS for giving me a chance to be as independent and safe as any other 19-year-old should be. As a future social worker I hope to help people and make a difference; I know that a Watson will help me work on not only achieving those goals, but surpassing them.
