Noelle Englehart & Alex
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read my brief story. My name is Noelle. I'm a single mother of two beautiful young children as well as a woman with multiple physical disabilities that are the effects of a crippling progressive disorder. I have severe arthritis and have also been diagnosed with Lupus. I have been confined to a wheelchair given the progression of my disease which is affecting multiple parts of my body, and I have had to rely on my son to pick up my keys and various things I drop. Most of these things he shouldn't be burdened with. Until I had my service dog Alex, I had to rely on my child. Alex has provided me with immeasurable help, support, confidence and independence. This highly trained dog took the burden of my illness off my son so he can be just a little boy, while giving me the ability to do things most of us take for granted. Along with my children, Alex is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and would be lost if i didn't have him.
Here lies a small challenge. It was asked that each NEADS recipient raise $9,500 for the cost of our dogs. Being a person used to challenges this is one I will gladly meet head on. I need your help though; will you please consider making a tax-deductible donation in my name to NEADS? I would love to say thank you in person and introduce my dog to you when we are paired, so that you can see for yourself where your donation and generosity is providing the missing link to my life. My family and I are profoundly thankful for all your help and support.
Again, thank you very much.
