I graduated with my 1st NEADS Service Dog ‘Alex’ in April 2002, but sadly I had to say goodbye to my helper and wingman in September 2013. Fortunately, I have been accepted to receive my 2nd NEADS Service Dog and I could not be more excited! I live in the Boston area and work as a Project Manager for an Architectural Firm. I enjoy attending sporting events, playing billiards, keeping up with friends & family, traveling and the outdoors.
I have required the use of wheelchair since 2001 due to complications from a spinal cord injury that occurred earlier in my life. If it weren’t for the support of my family, friends and the help & companionship of ‘Alex’ I unquestionably would not be where I am now, both personally & professionally. I know firsthand the physical & emotional qualities service dogs provide – from fetching & carrying my belongings to providing a sense comfort and normalcy in any situation. They are truly remarkable animals and I am privileged for this opportunity. I thank you for your time and hope you consider donating.
