Planned Giving
Clients and friends who have included NEADS in their estate plans through a will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or life income gift are eligible to join the Kendrick Legacy Fund. Membership into this society is a powerful way to support the mission of NEADS. Gifts to our planned giving program enable us to continue our goal of helping others help themselves through the use of our unparalleled canine assistants.
The Kendrick Legacy Fund
Kendrick was a very special Golden Retriever who had a sad beginning. He was rescued by the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue program because of a family tragedy. Fortunately, Kendrick was taken in by NEADS and became the first service dog we placed. He was given to a young boy named Teddy, and Kendrick immediately earned his keep. When Teddy's
wheelchair rolled into the family pool, Kendrick jumped into the water and guided him to the edge, saving his life.
The incredible bond that forms between a person and his assistance dog cannot be more explicit. Kendrick is one of the hundreds of service dogs that have become the meaning of independence for people who have a disability. Kendrick is the symbol of what it means to make a difference in someone's life.
Our planned giving program is named after the first NEADS service dog who paved the way … and whose legacy continues to lead the way.
Everyone has the capacity to leave a legacy, regardless of income. NEADS is totally reliant on private donations, and for future expansion we also depend on the personal benefaction of friends who support our mission in a number of ways. You can donate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the assets in your will, stock options, annuity or even land. Please contact your financial advisor for guidance on how to include NEADS in your will.
