NEADS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was established in 1976 and is based in Princeton, Massachusetts. NEADS is accredited by Assistance Dogs International, the internationally recognized governing body that establishes industry standards and practices.
The Client Services Specialist will be responsible for working with veterans applying for a Service Dog. The Specialist will serve as NEADS’ liaison and be responsible for outreach to the veteran community. Additional responsibilities include supporting the assessment and evaluation of civilian clients under the direction of the NEADS Manager of Client Services, who is a licensed independent clinical social worker.
The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and 3 or more years of social work, counseling, or case management experience. Some of that experience should include working with veterans; experience with veterans with PTSD would be ideal. Knowledge of programs available to veterans nationally and locally is needed. Public speaking experience, strong written communication skills, and excellent time management and organizational skills are required.
