I’ve always wondered who I will be, but it’s always interesting to gather yourself and explain who you are to others.  I feel as though I’ve become good natured, and always full of laughs.  I know there is much to journey towards but I’m living in the present pushing for an independent future.

I grew up in Andover, Massachusetts in a neighborhood full of kids my age who thrived playing sports and getting into mischief.  In addition, I grew up with my summers near the beach, sailing, doing summer chores, and living carefree in a place I still hold dear.  High school, still fresh in my mind, was Central Catholic – a place which pushed me to be better in education, friendships, sports, and as a person.  It felt like an explosion of wants and drive. I played lacrosse, ran track, and made some friends that will last a lifetime.  I had matured a lot, or so I believed, and was ready to go off to college, like every young adolescent is.

On Fourth of July of 2016, out with friends and family on the beach, I had an accident diving into a wave.  Instantly paralyzed, a new hand of cards was dealt.  Since then, time has slowed down, and I’ve seen a whole new side to struggle and sacrifice. It has given me a new appreciation for the intricate and simple festivities of my life.  I enjoy the little things, like good music and conversation, or even giving back by mentoring at the hospital.  I’ve gotten invested in hand biking as an outdoor activity chasing the thrill of being active. Even though I may not be able to play my favorite sports I can still watch and root my teams.

I have learned so much about myself and people’s perspectives by experiencing a different life. After so much work the last two years. I’ve made it finally to college. An opportunity to grow further and plant the seeds to change my life and others.
