Program: Assistance Dog
Minimum Goal: $8,000 | Amount Raised:$6,916
Hi, my name is Loriann Gatta and I was matched with my first Assistance Dog for Therapy, Greta, in 2005 from NEADS. We worked together for 12 years making a difference every day in the lives of elders in the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts. In April of 2018, Greta left this earth for a higher calling. Now to continue my work as a Licensed Social Worker for the Chelmsford Housing Authority I have returned to NEADS to start my search for another Assistance Dog.
I am the Director of Social Services for the Chelmsford Housing Authority, which is an agency, dedicated to meeting the needs of the elderly, the disabled and families who are in need of affordable housing. I work with a diverse population of tenants who are offered supportive services in order to maintain their highest level of independence in a community setting. This population consists of disabled adults, elders and families whom we help to achieve a safe and healthy quality of life in affordable housing. My dog and I will spend our days visiting tenants in any one of Chelmsford Housing Authority’s many apartment buildings and attend various community meetings. As well as visiting nursing homes and Adult daycare programs.
Thank you for your donation to NEADS and helping me to meet my goal of $8000. I cannot wait to start my journey again with my next Assistance Dog for Therapy.
*NEADS clients pledge to raise a minimum of $8,000 for the organization, thus allowing us to fulfill our mission of placing Service Dogs with individuals who benefit from them the most. Each donation ensures that NEADS will continue to change lives with our World Class Service Dogs.
On our donation form, pick the name of the client you want to sponsor under the Program Menu and check whether or not we can share your contact information with the client. Client fundraising totals are manually updated weekly (not automatically) which allows 100% of each donation to be allocated towards each client’s fundraising goal.
