Maddy Woodford & Mutti
From: Raynham, MA
Program: Facilitated Service Dog
Minimum Goal: $8,000 | Amount Raised:$6,039
My name is Maddy, I’m 15 years old and I live in Raynham, MA. I was diagnosed with ASD (Asperger’s) when I was twelve years old. I have struggled with different things such as anxiety/depression, regulating my emotions, forming friendships and eating since I was little. I also have a hard time when I am not in my own environment and going to school has always been hard for me. I feel best when I am at home. I really feel like having a social dog will help me a lot with all of these things.
Having a social dog to call my own and to take care of has been something I have been wanting for a long time and when a family friend told us about the NEADS program I was so excited! I think the social dog will help me to feel more comfortable when I am feeling anxious and then I will be able to do the things that can be really hard for me like going to Maine to visit my family or going to a place I have never been before. What I really look forward to though is having the dog be my friend. I will love him or her and I will take very good care of him or her!
Thank you very much for any help you can give.
Mutti has given Madison more self confidence and above all else has given her companionship. Madison and Mutti are inseparable.
