On April 28, 13 amazing teams competed with all their might in the 2024 Pulling 4 Paws Truck Pull. We were delighted to see so many returning teams, their enthusiasm undeterred by last year’s cold and wet conditions. It is a testament to the community’s dedication to the NEADS mission.
Team NEMLEC-SWAT prevailed in the overall competition at Polar Park in Worcester. Congrats, 2024 Champs!
A shout out also to our Divisional winners: Golden Opportunities (Redemption Trail Category), RetroFit Technologies, Inc. (Business Category), and NEMLEC-SWAT (Uniformed Heroes Category). Honorable mention to the other teams: Redemption Rock Raisers, The Litter Mates, Must Love Dogs, NV Fitness, TD Bank, Monty Tech JRROTC, Princeton Fire & EMS, Fitchburg Police Relief Association, and Concord Fire Department. It was an incredible effort by all.
The teams all pulled their weight in fundraising, too, with NEADS’ own Litter Mates emerging as the top fundraisers. Raising more than $8,300, this team far surpassed the suggested $3,000 goal. Congratulations, Litter Mates, and thank you to all our teams for pulling in such a big way to support our mission!
35 children took part in our inaugural Zoomies 4 Kids, a fun run around the warning track that kicked off the event. Smiley Ball, the WooSox mascot, led the run.
Thank you also to those who stepped up to sponsor the Truck Pull, including RAWZ Natural Pet Food (Presenting Sponsor); Polar Beverages (Truck Sponsor); Abaris Financial Group (Batting Tunnels Sponsor); Leominster Credit Union (Zoomies 4 Paws Sponsor); Harbor Sweets (Entertainment Sponsor); Boston Duck Tours (Timing Sponsor); Xerox Business Solutions (Communications Sponsor); and our Business Sponsors: Blue Buffalo; Morgan Stanley; D’Ambrosio Eye Care; Veterinary Surgery of Central Massachusetts; and Enterprise Wealth Management; and Friends of NEADS Tracy Carroll and Joe Sudol.
Thanks also to the photographers who skillfully captured the event as well as the volunteers who assisted with registration, t-shirt distribution, and many other tasks.
