Meet the Staff: Bailey Sullivan

January 30, 2019
Get to know the NEADS staff in this occasional series. Today, please meet Bailey Sullivan – Assistant Breeding and Puppy Development Coordinator.

When did you start working at NEADS?

I was hired in December of 2016.

What brought you to NEADS?

I was a senior in college (studying animal behavior) and was looking for a summer internship and NEADS seemed like the perfect place to intern.

What do you do at NEADS?

I have had many roles at NEADS! I started off as intern (volunteer position), then I was hired as a kennel/ELC attendant, I then applied to be the Floating Supervisor (I worked as a supervisor in the kennel, ELC, and nursery), and then in December I became the Assistant Breeding and Puppy Development Coordinator. My current role involves doing advanced socializations and exposures with the puppies and breeding, whelping, and raising litters of puppies on campus.

What did you do before you came to NEADS?

Well for part of my employment at NEADS I was finishing up college, interning at a wolf sanctuary, bartended for a catering company and then I was an assistant director of a farm/outdoors camp.  I have been working at NEADS full-time since I graduated college.

What do you love about working for NEADS?

I love that I get to know the puppies when they are on campus and then see them when they return to campus to be matched. Seeing them go through each stage is a wonderful and rewarding experience!

Do you have any pets?

I have a lab/mix named Wally who is 3 years old and I am pretty sure he is half greyhound because his back legs are taller than his front and he has a skinny head, not like a normal lab. I also have a cat named Sox, as you can tell I am a big fan of the Red Sox since both my animals names have to do with them.

Share a funny story or weird fact

Speaking of the Red Sox, a fun fact about me is that I have been to 13 MLB stadiums out of 30. I have traveled all over the U.S. and to Canada to see the Red Sox play at other stadiums and only have 17 more to go!

Now you know a little bit more about Bailey and what she does here at NEADS. Feel free to reach out and say hello anytime! And stay tuned to learn about another staff member in the next post…
