NEADS Graduates 22 New Service Dog Teams

NEADS held its 76th Graduation Ceremony on November 4 at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (“Monty Tech”) in Fitchburg, MA. Supported by family, friends, and NEADS staff, volunteer puppy raisers, and other supporters, NEADS Service Dog teams spoke about living with a Service Dog during a moving ceremony to celebrate their life-changing partnerships.In honor of Veterans Day, two graduated veterans share the lasting impact their Service Dogs have had on their lives. This fall’s graduating class represents a wide range of NEADS Service Dogs, including Service Dogs for Veterans, Service Dogs for individuals with physical disabilities, Service Dogs for Hearing, Service Dogs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, and Assistance Dogs for professionals in classroom, courthouse, and hospital settings.
 
Fall 2018 graduates came from towns across Massachusetts (Uxbridge, Pepperell, Northborough, Spencer, Waltham, Colrain, East Brookfield, Sharon, Danvers, Milford, Natick, Bellingham, Duxbury, Hudson, and Reading), as well as from New Hampshire (Merrimack, Hudson, and Fitzwilliam), Connecticut (Hamden and Meriden), New York (Mastic Beach and Webster), and Idaho (Pocatello).
