Occupation: Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Current Pup: Newman

How long have you been a Puppy Raiser and how many dogs have you raised? (Include furloughed dogs and the one you are currently raising).

Newman is the first NEADS dog I have raised.

What led you to Puppy Raising?

I am passionate about incorporating animal assisted therapy into my occupational therapy practice. I felt it was important to understand the training components of the process. I’ve loved training and look forward to continuing to develop my skillset!

Ice Breakers

If you could choose any two famous people to have dinner with who would they be?

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Janelle Monae

If you were a dog, what breed do you think you would be?

American leopard hound

Would you rather explore outer space or the bottom of the ocean?

I love scuba diving, so the bottom of the ocean near Borneo between 30-100 feet, after that it gets a bit dark!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor and ice cream topping?

Chocolate peanut butter swirl, whipped cream and sprinkles

What would your superpower be and why?

To speak every language and dialect (including animal languages) to enrich my travel experiences and be able to connect with different people and animals.

Tell us your favorite part about being a Puppy Raiser and/or your favorite memory with one of the NEADS pups.

My favorite part about being a Puppy Raiser watching how enthusiastically he responds to training. I love problem solving strategies to enhance his training experience. I have also enjoyed seeing how positively my clients and Newman respond to seeing each other at our Autism Center!
