QR Codes

As a client fundraiser, you spend a lot of time trying to direct people to your NEADS fundraising page. A way to make this easier is by creating a QR code that will take potential donors straight to your page.

What is a QR code?

A QR code is similar to a bar code. It is a unique code that stores information and can be easily scanned. A QR code that contains the link to your client fundraising page will bring donors right to the page – it’s that easy!

How do I create a QR code?

There are many different sites that will allow you to create a free QR code. It’s a simple process; all you do is paste the link to your fundraising page into the correct spot and the website will generate your code, which you will then save to your computer. If you want to make your QR code stand out, and look more official, you can add the NEADS logo to it.  Here are a few of the most popular sites for free QR codes:

Where can I use a QR code?

Once you have your QR code, you can use it on all your fundraising materials. Such as…

Business or trading cards:

Many clients chose to print business or trading cards which can be handed out to potential donors. There are many online options for card printing, and the cost is minimal. Be sure to include your QR code on the cards. You will find examples of each type of card below (please note that the trading card doesn’t contain a QR code, but it certainly could).

Collection jars:

Ask local businesses if you can place collection jars at their front desks and checkout counters. You can either attach this NEADS Pennies for Pups sign to the jar, or you can simply use the NEADS logo. Your QR code can be placed on the jar too or leave a stack of printed cards (see above) next to the jar.

Flyers:

Posting flyers around town is a popular, and effective, way to bring in donations for NEADS. Contact local businesses and check with municipal buildings in your area to see if you can hang flyers announcing your fundraising campaign. If you would like to use our ready-made flyers for clients, visit the Flyers for Client Fundraising post in the Client Resource Center.  Simply add your name to the flyer, as well as the link to your NEADS fundraising page, or even better, a QR code that brings donors to your fundraising page.

Fundraising letters:

Writing and sending out fundraising letters is something that every client should do. You are welcome to use the Fundraising letter template that NEADS provides for you, or you can create your own letter from scratch. Either way, adding a QR code that links to your NEADS fundraising page is key. For more info. on fundraising letters please refer to the Fundraising Letters article in the Client Resource Center.
