What’s in a Name?

Why Get Dressed. Give Back? It’s inspired by our Service Dogs themselves, and their World Class training.

“Get Dressed” is the command that tells our dogs, “It’s time to get to work!” When they put on their vest and Gentle Leader, they’re all business.

“Give” signals a dog to gently release an item they’ve retrieved into their handler’s hand. When a Service Dog performs a task like opening a refrigerator door, retrieving their partner’s medication, and then carrying it to their partner, this is the final command.

“Back” cues a dog in a tight space to turn around and face their handler, walking backwards until they’re in a better position. It’s an example of how unflappable our dogs are even in less than comfortable situations.

So plan to Get Dressed and join us to Give Back!
