Teams Test Their Strength, Raise Funds for NEADS

P4P 2019 (115)a

On Saturday, May 4, NEADS held its third Pulling 4 Paws Truck Pull, a fundraiser/team strength competition in which participants work together to pull a full-sized flatbed truck. The event was held at Wachusett Brewing Company. During the Pulling 4 Paws Truck Pull, 15-member teams raced against the clock to see who could pull the Wachusett Brewing Company flatbed truck, which weighs 26,940 pounds, 20 feet the fastest. Teams competed in one of five divisions.

Individuals also tested their strengths at the Tire Flip by seeing how many times they were able to flip a 200- or 400-pound tire.

Friends, families, and other supporters, plus NEADS staff, and volunteers (many with Service Dogs in Training), were there to cheer the teams on.

The winners are as follows:

  • Police division: NEMLEC Swat/K9 team
  • Fire division: Fitchburg Fire “Pullin’ Dawgs”
  • Open division: Gerry’s gang
  • Business 1 division: Retrofit Technologies
  • Business 2 division: Concord Lumber

The overall winner was NEMLEC Swat/K9. The City of Fitchburg Police Department won the Mayor’s Cup, and the Mayor of Fitchburg was present to watch as they received their trophy.
