Edison sure loves rubs, cuddles and kisses but there are only specific times when that is permitted and that is when I give permission. At home (and when my sister visits) he’s free to just “be a dog” but when we are out in public he is in “work mode.” If the time is right I may let people say a short hello. Otherwise, I hope you will respect when I say no. His main job is to be focused on me. #day47of365

In order to stay up on his training, I practice Edison’s commands often. Today we practiced “speak!” This command is critical to keep sharp and the only time he barks is when I need help. Thanks to NEADS for Edison’s impeccable training! #day48of365

Edison says that packing is hard work! We are headed to California tomorrow to visit my sister. He will be at my feet on board the plane. We will be in the bulkhead seat, which gives us more room. We’ve flown before and he’s quite the trooper. Stay tuned for our upcoming adventures this week. #day49of365

Oh...the puppy feels! My Edison started his career at this very young age. NEADS starts training the dogs from about 8 weeks old. They carefully and artfully guide them through training to make sure that each pup can grow up to be the best they can be. #day51of365

It’s time to party! Edison and I had a great visit to the Broad Museum today. There were so many cool exhibits. Shout out to the museum staff for being so welcoming and accommodating. #day52of365

Ever wonder what the view looks like from down under? Edison always loves to rest his head on the footrest of my wheelchair. It feels a bit cramped but it’s comforting to know he is near me. My buddy! #day53of365

One of Edison’s favorite tasks to do for me is press the automatic door button. Such a hard worker! We just got back from visiting California and he was on the top of his game as always. #day55of365

This elevator was so cool at the Broad Museum in California! NEADS trains all their pups to be used to elevators like this. It felt like I was going into a time capsule. Nothing out of the ordinary for Edison. #day56of365

Edison and I visited California this past week. We were thrilled to be able to spend some time with my coworkers from Convaid which is the company that I work for. #day57of365

This was my view as I was getting lunch ready this afternoon. He was being such a good boy. He really wanted to play but knew that it wasn’t the right time so he just stayed right in his “place” waited until I was finished. #day58of365
